Diary of July 28 2006: Beyond-Haifa

The Mujahideen's Pledge to the Commander

The Islamic Resistance moved to the stage of taking the conflict deeper inside the "Israeli" entity beyond Haifa city as previously announced by Hizbullah S.G. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. "Khaibar-1" type missiles were launched for the first time targeting Afula city, about 47 kilometers from the Lebanese -occupied Palestine border.

Also bombed were the towns of Acre, Safed, Dalton intelligence base and the row of northern occupation settlements.

On the battlefield, the Islamic Resistance made a qualitative achievement when it encircled a concentration of "Israeli" troops at the southern end of the Lebanese border town of Maroun Al Raas then targeted them with mortar shells and guided missiles before the Mujahideen pounced up on them.

Meanwhile violent confrontations continued on Bint Jbeil - Aytaroun - Maroun Al Rass triangle against two "Israeli" ground forces. Enemy soldiers were forced into retreat and withdrew from the city of Bint Jbeil after incurring heavy losses in troops, tanks and armored vehicles, as well as the downing of a reconnaissance drone that crashed in the area of Mount Barouk.

After its defeat before the resistance combatants, the occupation leadership decided to revert to adopting a policy of targeting civilians committing 4 massacres in each of the towns of Haddatha, Kfar Jaoz, Yatar and Deir Anoun Annaher. Enemy air strikes destroyed houses over the heads of residents, leading to the martyrdom of nearly twenty citizens.

The Western Bekaa witnessed the heaviest aerial bombardment since the beginning of the aggression. Over a 3 hour period non-stop air raids went on at 5 minute intervals, while Maydoun hills, Ayn Al Tineh, Jabour, Abu Rashid and the area around Mashgharah and Wadi Yuhmur were targeted with over thirty raids.

The Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance sent a letter to Hizbullah S-G Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah saying:

"Here we stand firm along the length of the Palestine border and in every corner of Lebanon's south, the south of pride, dignity and defiance.

We are still the promise you made, like thunder over the Zionists' heads.

We, O Sayyed are the weapons of Sheikh Ragheb, the will written by Sayyed Abbas, and O Sayyed and leader we hold true to the covenant and pledge we made to you and to the martyrs.

We are freedom for Samir Kantar, Nassim Nisr, Yahia Skaff, Mohammad Farran and all the prisoners.

We are liberation for Shibaa Farms, Kfar Shouba Hills and every inch of our dear Lebanon.

We are sacrifice for the proud and great people of Lebanon.

We are the blood that protects and defends the country... the entire country.

We are devotees of Hussein.

We are the surprises... We are, God willing, victory in the making."

The Commander of the international force operating in southern Lebanon, Alain Pellegrini said in an interview with the London "Times" newspaper: "Hizbullah cannot be defeated militarily... After more than two weeks of fierce battles Hizbullah is still strong, and only a political solution is the way to resolve the question of Hizbullah's weapons."

The "Times" newspaper revealed that the two planes that landed in a British airport were civilian planes loaded with smart bombs, and added: "'Israel' had asked the United States to hand over a satellite and laser-guided missiles."

Hizbullah asserted in a statement given by member of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hassan Fadlallah, in Agence France Presse (AFP) that "Hizbullah was flexible in order to preserve national unity by agreeing to a plan by Prime Minister Fouad Siniora to end the war."

Speaker Nabih Berri criticized the Arab position calling on Arab rulers to be mindful that "What is happening in southern Lebanon is the last ray of hope for a comprehensive peace in the region. If you this opportunity is missed, the definite alternative is not only successive wars in the Middle East, but successive coups."

Former PM Salim Hoss commented on the attitude of the Egyptian President saying: "We have not asked and will not ask President Mubarak to fight in Lebanon's defense, Lebanon is its own guarantor, but instead of a war we did expect at least a word in defense of the Lebanese children being killed with weapons of utter destruction used by the 'Israeli' enemy, which it receives from the U.S.-the only remaining super power- whose consent the Egyptian President is keen on."

Egypt's Mufti, Sheikh Ali Gomaa considers the "Israeli" aggression on Lebanon "Permits the Lebanese to defend their homeland" noting that "Hizbullah is defending its country...what it is doing is not terrorism."

MP Walid Jumblatt said "Hizbullah managed to break 'Israel's' prowess... but to whom will Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah offer this victory, to the state of Lebanon, the Syrian regime or the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to improve the conditions in the negotiations over the Lebanese rubble?"

U.S. President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Washington stressed that "The objective is the summary of Chapter VII of the internal order of the Security Council, that is to put an end to violence and to mandate a multinational force... this moment is fundamental and basic in the history of the Middle East."

Bush said: "There is great suffering in Lebanon because Hizbullah attacked 'Israel' and a great deal of suffering in the Palestinian territories since Hamas is trying to impede the progress of democracy."

Blair said "The aim is not only a cessation of current hostilities in Lebanon and 'Israel', but the adoption of a strategy for the entire region that allows the Government of Lebanon to control its entire territory, and be as democratic as its people wish."
