This University plays a leading and vital role in the development of higher education in I.R Iran. PNU is the largest state university in the country with some 186,000 student enrolled at 21 programs offered by 167 local study centers and units based in different cities and towns. As a Mega–University, PNU has had to work hard to establish that distance teaching is an academically rigorous and respectable educational endeavor. Moreover, it is steadily increasing its credibility.
