Nasrallah: Hezbollah remains firm

Hasan Nasrollah

Imad Mughniyeh's martyrdom will herald new victories, Secretary General of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah said at the funeral ceremony of the assassinated commander on Thursday.

Addressing a large crowd of people who despite the harsh weather conditions had attended the ceremony in Beirut, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah congratulated and condoled Mughniyeh's martyrdom to his family and those brave fighters combating in Lebanon, Palestine and places were jihad against arrogance is going on.

"Imad Mughniyeh is one of the unknown soldiers of Allah on earth who are known in the heaven; One of those who defend their ummah, their homeland and their rights," Nasrallah said speaking in a videotaped lecture over a large screen at the funeral ceremony.

"They do not expect praise of others and don't reply to the oppressors and liars' accusations because they are selfless," he added.

Nasrallah noted that these people do not defend themselves (against accusations) because they don't consider an entity for themselves outside the framework of jihad and self-sacrifice.

He said it was a duty to present their illuminant faces to the world after their martyrdom.

Addressing the Lebanese nation, he said Mughniyeh's martyrdom is not a surprising event because "we are all members of a shool of thought in which its messengers, Imams and leaders were martyred; that's why after Haj Imad's martyrdom we are in usual conditions."

"We are experiencing a real bloody war and will defend our homeland, nation, sacred values and dignity againt all greeds, challenges and aggressions," Nasrallah stressed.

Referring to Hezbollah's reaction to the terror attack, he said that whereas the Zionists consider Haj Rezvan's martyrdom as a great achievement for themselves, we believe his martyrdom will herald new victories.

"If Sheikh Raghib's blood sent the Zionists out of a great part of Lebanon's territory, and if Sayyed Abbas Mousavi's blood expelled them from Lebanon's borders, Imad Mughniyeh's blood will put an end to their existence, said Nasrallah.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah underelined that he was not speaking out of emontions and referred to a statement uttered by the founder of the Zionist regime about the the fake regime's weaknesses.

David Ben-Gurion (1886-1973) had said that Israel would collapse after a first defeat in a war.

Nasrallah said while some Zionists named the July 2006 war on Lebanon as the Zionist regime's sixth war, the main leaders of the regime considered it as the first war.

The left and the right party and the extremists admitted that Israel was defeated in the July war, he said.

Moreover, the Winograde report issued by a lawyer appointed by Olmert and not by Imad Mughniyeh presented some of the Israeli army's shortcomings and inabilities.

"A question is posed now: Why were they (Zionists) defeated in July's war despite their claim to have the most powerful Middle East military and the most advanced war equipments?" Nasrallah asked.

He answered "basically, the reason behind the Zionist army's defeat was the brave resistance of Imad Mughniyeh and his fellow fighters."

"This is how Israel experienced defeat in war for the first time and as historical rules and traditions show, and according to Ben-Gorian's prediction, it was doomed to failure and will collapse God willing," Hezbollah Secretary General underlined at the funeral ceremony.

He said following the martyrdom of Sheikh Raghib Harb, Abbas Mousavi, Fat'hi Shaghaghi, Ahmad Yasin and all those martyred in the path of resistance, there will be a final victory by the annihilation and uprooting of the cancerous occupier regime grown on the body of the Arab countries.

"Another point which all friends must be sure of and the enemy must be aware of is that the enemy has commited an act of folly," Nasrallah stated adding that Haj Imad's martyrdom had not inflicted any damage on the body of resistance.

"Imad Mughniyeh's fellow brothers will continue his path just as they continued the path of Abbas Mousavi," he reiterated.

The enemies don't know how Abbas Mousavi's blood revived the spirit of resistance among Hezbollah fighters and increased their motivation for standing against Zionists, Nasrallah said.

"Haj Rezvan's blood will increase our might, unity and power of resistance and will give us more motivation to continue to resist," he noted.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah referred to Hezbollah's full preparedness to fight any possible attack and said that the combat forces began getting ready for a new war from the first day after the July war.

Nasrallah pointed out that today resistance is not dependent on missiles but on brave young commanders.

"The Winograde report said only a few thousand combat forces fought against the Middle East's most powerful army and admitted to having been defeated," he reminded.

"Listen carefully, in the next war don't expect only one Imad Mughniyeh because he has put behind tens of thousands of trained forces who seek martyrdom."

Hezbollah Secreatary General warned the Zionist for taking the fight beyond Lebanese borders by assassinating Mughniyeh in Syria.

"You have killed Haj Imad outside the natural battlefield," Nasrallah said, addressing the terrorist regime.

"You have crossed the border," Nasrallah added.

"With this murder, its timing, location and method - Zionists, if you want this kind of open war, let the whole world listen: Let this war be open."

"Like all human beings we have a sacred right to defend ourselves," said Nasrallah.

"We will do all that takes to defend our country and people."

The population walked for several kilometers after the coffin, clad in the yellow Hezbollah flag, from the Sayyed al-Shuahda Mosque in south Beirut to the burial site, chanting "death to America, death to Israel."

"The July war is not over. It is ongoing and no ceasefire was ever declared," Nasrallah noted.

At the end of his speech, Nasrallah referred to the Rafik Hariri's assassination anniversary and expressed hope that Imad's martyrdom would bring different parties closer to each other.

"Lebanon will never become Americanized and will never divide. Lebanon will not become federal," Nasrallah reiterated.

"Those who want to separate (from the Lebanese nation) must go out of Lebanon and return to their lords in Washington and Tal Abib."

Lebanon will remain as a place of coexistence, national reconciliation and unity, resistance, victory and national dignity, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said.

He stressed, "Despite demands of all those who invite world armies to attack Lebanon and Syria and despite the will of those troublemakers, this Lebanon will remain a place of national unity, dignity, courage and glory."
