Thebook consistsofanIntroductionandfourparts.Thefirstpart dealswithGod,macrocosm(cosmos),andmicrocosm (human being).Thesecondpart,titledTheology, discussesthecomplementarydualpolarityinIslamicthought,drawingheavilyuponthe sufitheological textssuchas Ibn Arabi's.Thethirdpart,Cosmology, startswiththediscussionoftheverse"AndofeverythingWe createdapair."It movesto macrocosmicimplicationsandtothehumanmarriageandgender relationships.Thefourthpart,titledSpiritualPsychology, discusseswhatwecancallthe "mattersoftheHeart."

Many readersmayfindthesubsectionaboutthehumanmarriageinCosmologyveryinteresting.HerethegenderrelationsinIslamare examinedinawaythat transcendsthelegalisticframeworkorthesociological apologetics.Thisdoesnotmeanthattheauthorignoresthe preceptsoftheshari'a,sheplacesthemwithinthebigpictureofthewholecreation.
