Sheida band to give concert in Toronto

Iranian setar and tar virtuoso Mohammadreza Lotfi and his band Sheida will be giving performances at this year’s Tirgan summer festival in Toronto.

The 15-member band will perform several pieces from their recent album “My Homeland Iran” at the event, which runs from July 17 to 20.

The festival, which is being organized by the Iranian Canadian Center for Art and Culture (ICCAC), will showcase a number of artistic fields.

Abbas Kiarostami will be participating in the cinema section, and Aidin Aghdashlu will be participating in the visual arts section.
