4th Assembly of Experts starts working

Iran-Experts Assembly-Inauguration

The fourth Assembly of Experts convened on Tuesday with a message from Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

At the inaugural ceremony, verses from the holy Quran were read and the Islamic Republic of Iran's national anthem played.

A temporary presiding board for today's inaugural session will be chosen according to age. This will be followed by the election of a Presiding Board for the 86-member constitutional body whose members will serve for two years.

Later in the session, “Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati”, who headed the supervisory board which monitored last December's Assembly of Experts election, will give a report on the conduct of the election.

Meanwhile, a swearing-in ceremony for elected members of the assembly is to be held shortly.

According to internal rules of the Assembly of Experts, the Guardian Council takes charge of the assembly's inaugural session.
