Kashani rejects US" new anti-Iran allegations

Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran "Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani" here Friday rejected US new charges that Tehran was involved in Iraq"s unrest.

Emami Kashani was addressing worshipers in Tehran University while delivering his second Friday prayers sermon.

"US allegations that Iran dispatched weapons to Iraq and killed the US forces by the arms are an accusation and a lie," Ayatollah Kashani said.

He dismissed a claim alleging Tehran of attempting to have access to nuclear weapons, saying, "Iran does not intend to access atomic weapons.

"Reports and inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) prove the issue."

The cleric added, "Nuclear weapons do not bring power. Based on Islam, people and their support will bring strength."

He said massive participation of the Iranian nation in Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies, marking the 28th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, was a symbol of Iran"s power and magnificence which disappointed enemies.

The substitute Friday prayers leader assessed as an "important principle" the vigilance of societies, saying, "Enemies do not intend to confront nuclear technology but strive to fight Islam and the nation"s vigilance.

"Nuclear energy is a pretext. Enemies intend to destroy (the Iranian nation"s) greatness," he said.

He urged enemies of the Islamic Iran to hear message of the people on importance of access to nuclear know-how and technology.

Referring to enemies" plan to cause a strife among Shiites and Sunnis, he called on Muslim nations to take the plots into consideration.

Emami Kashani condemned recent measure of the Zionist regime in destroying parts of Al Aqsa mosque and called on the Islamic world to react to the act.
