greece seeks broader iran cultural ties

A senior Greek cultural official has said that Greece wants to expand its cultural ties with Iran.

Zoe Kazazaki, the general director of Modern Culture at the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian cultural attaché Muhammad-Reza Pakravan in Athens on Friday, IRNA reported.

Iran and Greece have an ancient and established history of cultural relations, which can be drawn on to develop collaborations between the two countries, she added.

Pointing to the necessity of increasing people-to-people contacts between Iranians and Greeks, Kazazaki stated that the Greek government will make every effort to promote cultural cooperation with Iran.

Pakravan noted that the two countries have had friendly ties for many years, saying, “All the potential should be utilized to expand bilateral relations in all areas, particularly in the cultural domain.”‌

At the end of the meeting, Pakravan invited Kazazaki to visit Iran in the near future.
