US making empty threats against Iran

commander of iran’s basij force brigadier general mohammad-reza naqdi

A senior Iranian commander has downplayed the US war rhetoric against the country, saying Washington is too weak to venture a war against the Islamic Republic.

“The US claims [plans] to [want to] attack the Islamic Republic [this is] while it has been three years since its economic meltdown and it is facing the uprising of the poor in the Wall Street,”‌ Commander of Iran’s Basij Force Brigadier General Muhammad-Reza Naqdi said on Tuesday, Fars News Agency reported.

The commander was referring to the Occupy movement emerged after a group of demonstrators gathered in New York’ s financial district on September 17 to protest against the unjust distribution of wealth in the country and the excessive influence of major corporations on US policies.

“The United States Navy Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, its ground troops in Kuwait and its Air Force in Qatar are all surrounded by the fighters of the Muslim Ummah, who are counting the seconds for the order to eliminate the US,”‌ Naqdi stated.

He downplayed US threats to target Iranian army officials as a further sign of conflicts within the US administration.

“The US accuses Iran of terrorism and while this news is still a top story it proposes to assassinate Iranian officials. These measures all indicate that the US is grappling with internal conflicts….”‌

Calling for solidarity among Iranians, Naqdi stressed that the United States, in the past 60 years, has engaged in wars only against those suffering deep social gaps, such as Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. He stressed that Washington would never dare to invade nations with political and national integrity.
