Iran directors judge at Georgian festival

Iranian directors Dariush Mehrjoui and Muhammad Atebbai have been invited to judge at the 2011 Batumi International Art House Film Festival (BIAFF).

Mehrjoui will judge the Georgian event’s Feature Film Competition section which will screen Iranian filmmaker Vahid Mousaian’s Golchehreh.

Mehrjoui’s successful films Leila and The Pear Tree will also be presented at a special screenings program during the festival, Mehr News Agency reported.

Atebbai will serve as a member of the event’s International Short Film Competition jury. Iranian documentary filmmaker Muhammad-Reza Farzad’s Into Thin Air will be screened in the same section.

Established in 2006, the Batumi International Art House Film Festival (BIAFF) sscreens feature-length films, shorts and documentaries from around the globe.

The 6th edition of the annual event which kicked off by Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris on September 17, 2011, will run until September 24.
