FIDMarseille awards Iran documentary

The 2011 edition of the FIDMarseille International Film Festival has awarded the Iranian documentary, Moving Up, directed by Loqman Khaledi.

The 58-minute production which made its world premiere at the French festival won the award of the event’ s First Film Competition section, ISNA reported.

The film also took part in this year’ s International Competition section and won the award, beating productions from France, Canada, Japan, Germany, Mexico, Spain and Argentina.

Moving Up is Khaledi’s first long documentary and recounts the story of a civil worker who dreams of becoming a novelist and has drafted some stories as well.

The film was screened twice during the festival and was warmly welcomed by the audience.

The 22nd FIDMarseille International Film Festival was held from July 6 to July 11, 2011.
