OIC Warns West against Insulting Islam
OIC Secretary General, Ekmaleddin Ehsan Oghlou warned the West against insulting Islam and Muslims. He said: It is surprising that these insults of the West have continued unabated for the past 3 years.
First, he said, it was the blasphemous cartoon and now the sacrilegious movie named 'Fitna'.
In addition to the false allegation of Pope Benedict about Islam, all of which raise the question that why such incidents happen. He further said: "We realize that the causes of such events are not ignorant persons, but European intellectuals. The fact that they take such measures which insult the holy symbols of a religion is indeed surprising. After the printing of the sacrilegious cartoon I sent a letter to the Danish Prime Minister and demonstrated our strong objection. Unfortunately the position taken by the Danish government was not much supportive. We tell Europeans that we should reduce the tension between the East and the West. The world should be freed of confrontation."
