International Seminar on Islamic Wealth Creation The seminar will be in Al-Qasimi Building, University of Durham, UK on 7th - 9th July 2003.
In a global economy where wealth determines power and influence, due to dominance of the interest mechanism, wealth creation and value preservation is one of the greatest challenges facing Muslims and the Islamic World as a whole. In this regard there is a need to focus on longer term issues of Islamic capital accumulation and its contribution to the development of Muslim societies, including those in the West.Due the importance of this theme, the Islamic Research and Training Institute of the Islamic Development Bank and the University of Durham in the UK have decided to organize an International Seminar on Islamic Wealth Creation. Topics to be covered include an evaluation of Islamic banking experiences, risk management in Islamic finance, Islamic equity investment, shariah compliant fund management and Islam and entrepreneurship.
