Iran holds 10th ceramic art biennial
The 10th biennial of International Contemporary Ceramic Art has kicked off in the Iranian cities of Tehran and Semnan showcasing a collection of fine ceramic works.
Pieces by some 196 artists from across the country have participated in the exhibition held at Tehran’s Imam Ali (PBUH) Museum.
Two renowned ceramic artists from Austria and Turkey have also participated in the event and will hold workshops on modern techniques of ceramic art for Iranian students.
Visitors can see traditional Iranian ceramic works adorned by Persian calligraphy and miniatures, as well as pieces created with modern and innovative techniques.
The 10th Biennial of Contemporary Ceramic Art of Iran opened on October 14, 2011, and will continue for 40 days with a jury panel judging the displayed items.
