Diary of July 27 2006: Bombardment of Afoula (What Lays Beyond-Haifa)
On July 28 2006, the Islamic Resistance made good on its threat to bomb what lays beyond Haifa, when the Mujahideen aimed their "Khaibar-1" type rockets at the city of Afoula.
This was, according to the statement issued by the Islamic Resistance, in retaliation to the enemy continuing its brutal aggression, which had expanded to include all the Lebanese territory targeting innocent and defenseless civilians.
With this retaliation a new phase of defiance and confrontation with this entity was started, to defend the dignity, pride, sovereignty and independence of Lebanon.
Diary of July 26 2006: July Aggression 1993
From July 25 to 31 the Zionist forces launched an aggression on southern Lebanon code named operation "Settling the Score."
In this aggression Lebanese infrastructure, residential and economic establishments were targeted, approximately a quarter of a million people were displaced, 123 people martyred and 250 wounded.
Diary of July 25 2006: The Phase of Reaching Beyond-Haifa City
The enemy resumed its scorched-earth policy as a prelude to a limited invasion of the villages that formed the confrontation arena with the Islamic Resistance. Its warplanes deliberately began its systematic destruction of the houses in the villages of Bint Jbeil, Maroun Al Raas, Aytaroun and Al Khiyam.
The enemy then proceeded to carry out airdrops on the hills in preparation for a field advance under the cover of violent intense raids and concentrated artillery bombardment of the perimeter. The international forces were not spared in the aggression; heavy enemy missiles destroyed an international observers post close to Al Khiyam ex-Zionist concentration camp they had destroyed a few days earlier by air raids, killing 4 international officers.
In this shelling bout the enemy used internationally banned phosphorous shells.
The resistance retaliated by shelling the occupation settlements with dozens of missiles, including the city of Haifa.
Hizbullah S.G. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah peered again through Al Manar television screen to announce that the confrontation with "Israel" has entered a new phase of beginning to target areas beyond Haifa city.
His Eminence said: "The war had been prepared a year ago in the context of what the Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called the new Middle East" and that "The 'Israeli' plan was to launch a ground offensive to control the area south of the Litani, through the use of 'Israeli' Air Force to strike the headquarters, centers and foundations of Hizbullah and Lebanese infrastructure in the first few hours, to cripple the country, pit the Lebanese street against the resistance, and disable its ability to take any initiative."
He explained that "This scenario was to be implemented in September or November with or without the pretext of the two captured soldiers" adding that according to the project on which basis the war was carried out, Lebanese was meant to be taken back to a worse state than that of 1982 and 17 May .. They wanted to drive Lebanon out of its history and culture to become American and Zionist."
Speaker Berri said in an interview with the "Al Arabiya" satellite channel that Rice submitted proposals conditional on their implementation as a single package. These proposals included making a weapons free buffer zone south of the Litani River, deployment of the Lebanese army and the establishment of an international force.
He described his meeting with Rice as "tense" and believed that "Her conditions posed a threat to the unity of Lebanon and further more, it does not give priority to the cease-fire."
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned saying that "The 'Israeli' aggression on Lebanon will result in a strong storm that could painfully hit the Middle East."
Diary of July 24 2006: Confrontations in Bint Jbeil Town
Bint Jbeil, the capital of resistance and liberation remained resolute against the occupation, growing more glorified by its resistance heroes who terrified the enemy, and repelled their attempts to advance toward the city.
The heavy losses in equipment, vehicles and personnel the enemy incurred in its battles with the resistance included 4 Merkava tanks, 2 complete posts with their entire crew either killed or wounded additional to a further fifth tank destroyed by night.
On another level on this same day, the resistance bombed with their rockets a number of Zionist occupation settlements in response to enemy attacks.
