A visiting Iranian deputy FM leading a delegation of Iranian ministers commissioned to hold last talks and consultations on President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’’s state visit of Iraq said in Baghdad on Friday everything is set for the visit.

Ali-Reza Sheik-Attar added that during three days of intensive talks, including two sessions with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister in Economic Affairs, Bahram Saleh, and necessary preparations are made for the historic state visit.

He said, "Five to ten letters of agreement would be signed during the visit, which would mark the opening of a new chapter in two countries' economic relations."

The Deputy Foreign Minister said that the objective of holding three days of talks in Baghdad was to agree on the contexts of the letters of agreement and the comments which were to be signed during the presidential visit.

Focusing on negotiations held with the Iraqi Economy Minister, Sheikh-Attar said, "The main axes of bilateral economic ties were discussed during that meeting."

He added, "Among the main topics of discussions with the Iraqi side here was the issue of Iran's one billion American dollar loan to Iraq."

The Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated, "Based on that agreement, the loan would be allocated to completion of infrastructure projects, taking advantage of Iranian contractors, facilities, and materials," adding, "This agreement is a long stride ahead in strengthening and expanding bilateral ties."

The other axes of talks on economic cooperation, according to him, included preparation of three "mother" letters of agreement, on stopping double taxation, backing up joint investments and cooperation between the two countries' customs officials.

Head of the Iranian delegation dispatched to Baghdad also spoke about agreements on cooperation between the two countries' banks, which would pave the ground for financial and momentary cooperation between the two countries after being signed during President Ahmadinejad’s visit.

Establishment of joint industrial border ownerships, cooperation in standards field, cooperation in oil industries, particularly in Basra and Abadan, would be among the other topics of agreements to be made during the visit.

Sheikh-Attar said, "An important joint political communique, too, would be issued during the visit, about whose axes the two sides are still negotiating."
